  1. Caramelized Halloumi Cheese with Honey, Lemon and Chilli

Caramelized Halloumi Cheese with Honey, Lemon and Chilli

  • 1 tbs Olive Oil
  • 2-3 tbs Honey
  • freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Chili flakes (or Red Pepper flakes) to taste
  • 1 tsp dried Thyme
  • juice of quarter of a Lemon
  • zest of 1 Lemon
  • 225 g packet of Halloumi cheese
  1. Mix marinade ingredients in a flat dish
  2. Slice cheese into 6-8 slices. Coat well in marinade.
  3. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results
  4. Fry for about 2 minutes on each side until caramelized
  5. Garnish with lemon slices, parsley and finely chopped red chilli
