Caramelized Halloumi Cheese with Honey, Lemon and Chilli
- 1 tbs Olive Oil
- 2-3 tbs Honey
- freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
- Chili flakes (or Red Pepper flakes) to taste
- 1 tsp dried Thyme
- juice of quarter of a Lemon
- zest of 1 Lemon
- 225 g packet of Halloumi cheese
- Mix marinade ingredients in a flat dish
- Slice cheese into 6-8 slices. Coat well in marinade.
- Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results
- Fry for about 2 minutes on each side until caramelized
- Garnish with lemon slices, parsley and finely chopped red chilli
